Nature

This is one of the mood boards i have created from the research i had gathered which helped me towards this piece. I based my sheet around animal pattern, butterflies/silhouettes, i tried to make it ranged by giving it a 3D touch by also adding colour as i thought it would have looked too dull and plain without a touch of colour.
For the 3D part i created origami butterflies to make the page look more realistic and give it a different touch.

I blended all the colours on the butterflies the best i could to match a rainbow idea, while also keeping it looking like a single butterfly the off coming parts are also morphed butterflies, following with the effect i tried with the animal print and butterfly silhouettes.

These are my own research images i have taken from my garden to go towards my nature research page.

This are a few examples of repeat prints that we were experimenting with to get the idea for when we designed our own, We all had a square eat to cut out accurately down the middle, and exactly half way making each square as even and straight as possible to ensure the pattern matched as we continued them.

These are examples and testers I did on a piece of paper, as i wanted to make sure that one of my ideas would work and that i was certain i knew what i was doing, To make the pattern work after cutting it into four sections you letter the backs with A,B,C and D, then after doing this you switch the letters A & D then B & C this makes it so that the design i had drawn in the corner then all matches up in the middle, proving that now they match up the idea is successful and that the design would pass to make a continuous print.

This is the result i achieved once i had switched all the squares around.

These are some of the designs i had done on my large design sheet with my 6 ideas. All my patterns are inspired by William Morris' I admire this designs, and wanted to mirror my own interpretation into one of my finalized prints.

This design wasn't particularly inspired by William Morris, This was based off one of my mood boards where i had focused more on Butterflies and Silhouettes.

This design (In progress) was inspired also by William Morris as i have stated i find his works rather interesting. For my designs i have chosen specific aspects from his large works and enlarged them to make a large design out of them, this way i would be able to choose a favourite part of William Morris' prints.

                                                      (In Progress Photographs)

This was my Design board within progress of designing them, I chose to keep the backgrounds of my designs a Suttle cream as i didn't want the boldness and attraction taken away from the flower i had drawn as i believe with a heavy background colour the print would have looked to busy and messy.
