Aluminium Bike -
I constructed this bike out of some aluminium wire I had brought from home, this was the first full frame that i had managed to put together. It took a while to figure out how to do part of the bike frame, I experimented and changed how I got the shape; Until I was satisfied.
I aimed to make the bike as realistic as possible, I wanted to get the basic details included such as the seat, Frame, wheels.
This was the finishing product, when I finished the finalizing details of the bike, I decided it needed more to it, So I created an easy example of a figure. I also wanted to make it stand out a bit better so I created a small quick T-Shirt for the figure to wear, to also link with the teams that were taking part within the 'Tour De France' race.
Mood Board 1 & 2 Progress -
This was the mid-way point of my first mood board which i did based on cogs, I aimed to make most of the media in watercolour with touches of pen (Black and White Gel), I used Pen to show detail in some of the areas on the cogs,
I used a range of different styled looking cogs, as I thought that if they all looked very similar it would make the collage consistently boring, Throughout creating the cogs i tried to make the colours dull, and not very vibrant, as much as i wanted them to stand out; So instead i used multiple colours within each to make them all unique from one another.
More cogs were to be added between all the negative white space, Places where there was barely any room for them, I filled in with a rusty grey brown and blue washed background, even so again to make the cogs look more outstanding.
On the side with the newspaper I aimed to include more detail and cogs that side, as I thought the newspaper would be a good background to apply watercolours upon.
This is the very beginning of the 2nd mood board i was working with, For this board i wanted it to be in great detail with exploded diagrams of parts within a bike. I wanted to put real effort into detail with parts such as the bolts, chains and how things such as the frame and seats were put together. (This was to be added later in)
Originally I was going to draw these images, but i felt as though i had messed them up so instead i stuck the existing image i was looking from on top instead. For the bike chain diagram, i wanted it to to take up more room on my board, as it was looking very blank and i was taking alot of time, so i placed to original image above the version i had started of it myself. I wanted the colours to also be dull-looking and rusty as i believed this colour scheme would work well through out my composed work.
as I had previously said I wanted my second mood board to pay close attention to detail, so this was another part i added within my sheet to make it yet again stand out and look realistic. I used an image I had taken from the internet and instead of using the media they used i created this one with just sketch pencil, as pencil is my strongest point.
I obviously wanted to draw mainly diagrams based around putting parts of a bike together but I thought this in the middle would be something else good and realistic to include.
This was the finished product of my hand in sketch pencil, i thought it came out pretty well as a result but i also thought it could have been alot better with the detail and realism of the hand.
This took up space between the bike chain and bolts,
